Wenger Reluctant to Losing Chamberlain
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists he does not want to lose Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
Premier League rivals such as Chelsea and Liverpool are keen to get the 24-year-old midfielder’s signature, and the team will later hold talks with Wenger and CEO Ivan Gazidis about his future.
Wenger reiterated his desire to keep the England-born player, who has so far proved unwilling to extend his contract with the Gunners, who have been left less than 12 months.
“I think we invested a lot of time, confidence and money on players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, which we bought at a young age,” Wenger told the media.
“For me, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be one of England’s great players in the coming years. I am personally very determined to keep him here at the Emirates Stadium and I hope he will commit to stay. “
